Thin Ice Book V A Miranda Rights Mystery 5 edition by Linsey Lanier Romance eBooks

I absolutely loved the first book in this series and the second book was really good even though a lot of the happenings were so unrealistic. The basic plot of this one was good but the execution was poor. Miranda stole my heart when she was the tough-talking, street fighter woman who caught the attention of one of Atlanta's social elite. But, in this book she becomes a mashup of Wonder Woman, the Madonna, and Zola the Psychic. She is smarter than every police force that she encounters, even the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. (Even though she was stupid enough to lead a killer to her daughter.) It just became a little too much for me. The dialogue in this one also is not up to par with the previous books. The interview that Miranda and Parker have with the parents and young brother of a murder victim the day after the crime is ridiculous. No parents would be that calm and collected after such a horror. The same was true for the conversations that Miranda had with the Wendy and her mother and Mackenzie's mother during the escape from the auditorium. Miranda actually stopped to talk with them instead of rushing on after her daughter? Not realistic at all. And the ending was so sappy I was actually chuckling a little. I know that there are more Miranda/Parker books but I won't be reading any of them.

Thin Ice Book V A Miranda Rights Mystery 5 edition by Linsey Lanier Romance eBooks Reviews

She writes so well, that I am inside the story with her characters. I laugh and cry with Miranda. Everyone should have a "Parker" in her life! Linsey reminds me of the author J.D. Robb's "Eve Dallas" character. It only took less than a day to read this latest book and I can't wait for the next one "All Eyes on Me". I have all of the "Miranda's Rights" series on my and hope to be able to afford her books in the future so I can re-read the series again. Thank you much, Linsey!!
As I've said in previous reviews, I am hooked on the Miranda series. Truly, I am a speed reader and have finished all Linsey Lanier books in less than 3 months. I started with the first book in the series at the end of June. I'm done with the whole series and have moved on into another series that was recommended. As a teacher, I am an advocate of reading....I read on my breaks, before work and during my lunch. The children see me reading as do my fellow teachers; I let them know who I'm reading presently and what stories I am looking forward to reading. A good book is my escape for the chaos of the world and the Miranda series has taken care of me. It's a good read!!!
This book 5 was wonderful. It was the best one in this series. So much sadness. Had tears in my eyes toward the end. Such a close call. Couldn't put it down. Sorry to see this series end.
This series is a fun ride. Not too heavy but keeps you wanting more. The more of these you read the more you get invested in these characters and their lives. A lot of suspense, some mystery, and a few dashes of romance to spice things up...in all a good mix and entertaining.
The last book in the series. The best book in the series. The touching ending in the book may bring a tear to your eye. But take heart, dear reader, there is more. Yep, the saga continues with more books to come in the Miranda and Parker series. Read on!
Okay, Miranda finally got her act together. Her husband still thinks she is about the greatest person on earth. The bad guy got his and the damsel was saved.

I stayed up late to finish this. Once I had started it, I just didn't want to put it down. Just when you would think things were going good, something would happen and the story would go into a new direction. I love this author and I know there is another series that follows this one. I think that will be my next read. I did find a number of errands in each book, #3 being the worst, but not so bad that you couldn't continue reading.
I discovered the Miranda's Rights series a couple of weeks ago and have been devouring them ever since! Miranda's character is such a refreshing change from most heroines; Parker, as well, is a much more well-rounded character, showing lots of kindness and vulnerability. All of the mysteries have been nail-biters. Are some of the plot points a little far-fetched? Yeah, probably, but that doesn't take away from the exciting readability of this series. It IS fiction, after all! While it was a little melodramatic, the reconciliation of Miranda to the other characters in the book was touching. I have thoroughly enjoyed this series and am excited to see it continues in a little different vein with the Miranda and Parker books. Editing is not great, but then that seems to be the case quite often in e-books. The story certainly supersedes these errors.
